Getting around corners at high speed isn't always the easiest thing to do, as shown in this crash.
When the pilot comes towards the turn he hits a wave, just big enough to put air beneath the hull and make the boat airborne. It flips upside down and floats in the air before slamming backwards down in the water, breaking it apart. The pilot was not injured.

Weekly spectacular for week 3.
Ken Dryden, practicing for the Texaco Cup @ Seafair in 1994, flips piloting a new hydroplane design with added weight to the nose. The result? Instead of going over, it just goes up and up into the air, before eventually, it comes back down again. Dryden escaped the massive crash with both legs broken.
